Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-05-09
koto.md is built on a “you keep your data” principle. The app does not collect, store, or transmit personal information about you.
What koto.md does not collect
- No analytics or telemetry
- No advertising identifiers
- No crash reports sent to third parties
- No accounts, sign-up, or tracking
What stays on your device
- Notes you write — stored as plain Markdown files on your device, in iCloud Drive (under your Apple ID), or on a WebDAV server you choose. The koto.md operator never sees them.
- WebDAV credentials (when you connect to a server) — stored locally in the iOS Keychain. They never leave your device except to authenticate against the WebDAV server you specified.
Third parties
- Apple iCloud — if you choose iCloud as the storage destination, files sync via Apple’s iCloud Drive under your Apple ID. Apple’s privacy policy applies.
- WebDAV servers — if you choose a WebDAV server, it is operated by you or a third party of your choice. Their privacy practices apply.
koto.md does not integrate any third-party SDKs that collect data on our behalf.
Children
koto.md is not directed at children under 13.
